The “César des Lycéens”
The "César des Lycéens" (the high school students' César) offers young moviegoers the opportunity to assert their view of French film production, to express and defend their tastes.
It was created in 2019, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
For its first edition, 54 general, technological and professional high schools took part in the vote among the 7 films nominated for the César for Best Film.
The César des Lycéens was awarded to Xavier Legrand's film Custody.
The voting process

The vote takes place on the same terms as the second round of voting of members of the Academy: it opened on Friday, February 1 to close Friday, February 22, 2019 at 16h, thus avoiding any possible influence between the two bodies election.
The César des Lycéens Award Ceremony
The César des Lycéens was awarded to Xavier Legrand's film Custody on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Grand Amphitheater of the Sorbonne, on the occasion of a meeting-debate with high school students and in the presence of the laureate and his team, the Minister of National Education and Youth and the President of the Caesar Academy.
