The High School Students César offers young cinema-lovers the opportunity to assert their view on French film production, to express and defend their tastes.
It was created in 2019, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Youth.
For its first edition, 54 general, technological and professional high schools took part in the vote among the 7 films nominated for the César for Best Film.
The High School Students César was awarded to the film JUSQU'À LA GARDE (CUSTODY), directed by Xavier Legrand.
The voting process
The electorate is open to final year classes of French general, technological and professional high schools. To find out how to register: http://eduscol.education.fr/cid129947/cesar-des-lyceens.htm
The vote takes place on the same terms as the second round of voting of the members of the Academy: it opened on Friday, February 1 and closed on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 4pm, thus avoiding any possible influence between the two electoral bodies.
The High School Students César Ceremony
The High School Students César was awarded to Xavier Legrand's film JUSQU'À LA GARDE (CUSTODY) on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Sorbonne's Great Amphitheater, on the occasion of a meeting-debate with high school students and in the presence of the laureate and his team, the Minister of National Education and Youth and the President of the Académie des César.
